Trust me without wondering.
Love me without restrictions.

Enhancing Your Writing Style

So you've been writing for a while now. You've started to develop your own style and now you want to move forward with it. But how? What do you do now? What are some ways you can help to enhance the writing style that you've spent so much precious time developing?

Over time I think you naturally get better. Reading other people's writing and comparing different styles are good ways to get ideas and to better enhance your own. Your personality and experience, own likes and dislikes, reading choices and basic life decisions all play a large role in the direction your writing is headed in.

I found a great list of basic style rules by Ginnie Wiehardt that you may also find useful.

Happy writing :)

Chuckie T.

The All-Star, conceived in 1917. A clean break into the basketball shoe market by Converse and Chuck T.

You would later branch away from them and into a typical fashion trend, put to death several times only to rise again. My thin, flat footed friend, you certainly haven't changed much since then.

You're now immortal in the eyes of the fashionable beholder. As some may not know you, they are only ignorant of your history and long-time rule.

You are Mulatto, a mixture of black and white. A standard that is plain and uncomplicated by nature. But extremely famous, seemingly built upon what I think is greater:

Affordability and adoration of the young consumer.

A true thing of the past for the baby-boomers. Inherently ours, young fashionistas of the new age. No longer fascinated by only blacks and grays.

A generation of loud individuality and personality.

A design so elementary, a white tee and stone-wash jeans can completely run away with your simplicity. As if there's no better place to be than here with Chuckie T.

Quote of The Day - 3

If you are alone, I'll be your shadow
If you want to cry, I'll be your shoulder
If you need to be happy, I'll be your smile
But anytime you need a friend, I'll just be me

8 Great Tips for Writing Dialog

Since the basic theme of this blog is about writing, no particular style or way of writing, but for people who generally love to do it, I figured I would forward some great tips on to you that I found to be rather useful.

That is, if you find dialog writing interesting.

I was searching Google about some of the different styles of writing just to try to get a better understanding on some things. I came across a nice blog by Ginny Wiehardt which offers 8 great tips for writing Dialog.

According to Ginny,

Good dialog advances the story and fleshes out the characters while providing a break from straight exposition. Though it takes time to develop an ear for dialog, knowing these simple rules and avoiding obvious pitfalls makes a huge difference...

Check out her blog for the 8 Top Tips for Writing Dialog.

Writer's Block

Arrgh! This stupid writers block. What is it anyway? It can't be a wall 'cause if it was, i'd grab the paint cans and create something huge!! No, it can't be that...

I don't know. Im wrecking my brain over this today. I'm starting to realize that the more I think of what I want to write about, the more lost I feel. Maybe that's the great thing about writing? I don't have to actually think about what I want to write about. It really just...comes out.

Like my last post about Photography. I took a ride through a few of my favorite places, one being the area of downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, and I was surrounded by nothing but art. Just everywhere. And just so we're on the same page, I have this thing about graffiti. I am in love with it, ok? Anyway, I had no choice but to write about what I saw. My brain made me do it. I had no beginning and no destination, but it worked out for me.

So i'm sitting here now doing exactly what I know I shouldn't do: thinking about what to write today. Ahh well, it will hit me soon, I guess. We'll see what I come up with :)

Photography

Oh, how I love to take the grand tour. So much so, I don't take two trains but four. Feet firmly on the floor for two hours or more. Free-loading a fast ride past traffic, I snap a few and the electrons flash like magic. Another memory.

On my way through Silver Spring, mesmerized by the walls and various things; covered in graffiti, all arful and dreamy ♥ In these winding alleys, a photographers fancy, lies the home to an astute artist as the dreamer once dreamed of his release. High on the walls, deep in the belly of the beast.

I look at the wall art as a raw expression. I fantasize of harsh, piddling repression of my city's youth and their artform. The streets and everything in between took this wall and made it mean what artists dream. A name, a place, a thing, a face. A prismatic depiction of pure chaos and havoc. I snap one and the electrons flash like magic. Another memory.

I should head back now as I'm packed full of insight and inspiration. A few hours after my adventurous nature took me on a ride through downtown Silver Spring. Seeking refuge under a taggers wing, I snapped a few quick memories and let them be.

Let them bask in their brilliant biographies, and I in mine.

Me and my photography.

Typography to me:

Typography to me is like poetry. An author takes words and letters and arranges them to ultimately create what they believe is art.

To define quickly what typography is for those who aren't yet hip to this particular style, it is the art and technique of arranging type, type design, and modifying type glyphs. Type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of illustration techniques. [more] ...

Me personally, I love the originality of it all. It seems to be a great art form that allows artists to go wild with creativity and personality using words and letters. A dash of Prose poetry with the modernity of digital art.

Some good examples of Typography lie below:

I simply wanted to bring to light another art form that I adore greatly and respect in a major way. For without writing, this blog and all others would simply not exist.

Quote of the Day - 1

"Bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity."

Always writing about you...

Natasha Virginia. When I met her, she was wrapped in this pretty, Godiva chocolate skin. She looked good enough to eat, but I promised I wouldn't bite. I feel like I know who she is already. I've seen her somewhere before. Shopping, maybe? Walking, dreaming? I just can't put my finger on it...

I just met her and I can already be myself. I can talk, be, look and do me, myself. How comfortable. My very first impression was just wow, she is profound. A pretty, well defined, super woman-like thing she was. She has a huge aura which is fantastically bright and white. Thank God for shades...

We talk a lot on the phone because I've never gotten bored. Her narrative is mysteriously hypnotic beside an extremely calm, soothing speaking voice. Needless to say, Virginia would put me to sleep at night. In a sense, she was my very own Nyquil brand cough medicine. I get sick now on purpose. I take it every night with absolutely no fight. And so she usually does most of the talking...

Many of her existential stories scream of personal experience. Equally dividing between happiness and misfortune, she tells tales of life, much of which could fill a thick book. Interesting and adventurous they are. Full of substance and gossip. I can't wait 'till she finally publishes it. I'll be the first in line for a copy.

She can relate to many of my problems and even suggest ways that I might solve them. I like that.

I guess with her there's no ending.
She is so, so interesting...

I miss her.
Now I want to kiss her.
